My sweet 8 year old son has been loving reading “Little Lord Fauntleroy” by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Any suggestions for similar style books appealing to boys, that he can read by himself?
To give an idea of what he can cope with/enjoys, other books he has read himself and enjoyed include Belle and Sebastian, Narnia books, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, The White Stag, The Iron Giant, The Secret Seven, Roald Dahl.

I remember loving an old book when I was a young lad, The Story of a Bad Boy about growing up in the NE. I think it was by Thomas Bailey Aldrich, a contemporary of Twain.
