    1. Finished:

**The Sword in the Stone, by T.H.White**. This was not what I expected, I thought it would be a sort of “classic” King Arthur story and I mostly got introductions to animal society (at least Merlin was there?). A lot of the ideas were cool but it felt like it wasn’t quite funny enough to be a parody but also not serious enough for a straight retelling. I will probably at least try the sequels but felt like taking a break first.

**Dragon Rider: The Aurelia Curse, by Cornelia Funke**. It was fine. The first one’s a childhood favorite so it was kind of nice to go back, but it didn’t have the same magic for me. Hope I’ll have stronger feelings about the new Inkheart book.

**The Running Grave, by Robert Galbraith** (Cormoran Strike series #7). I do have strong feelings about this one but I haven’t really sorted them out yet. I was deeply, stay-up-all-night invested, so that’s good, even if it sometimes came in the form of feeling anxious and stressed. It felt like this was an excellent thriller but then also a not so excellent murder mystery. Just in general lots of strong moments next to some I really didn’t like.
