I just finished reading Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky and am looking for my next book! I enjoyed the book but I read it on and off so I probably didn’t get the full payoff of it. I guess the next logical step is Brothers Karamazov but I’m hoping for something shorter (and frankly easier).
In the past, I enjoyed Old Man and the Sea, Of Mice and Men, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, Things Fall Apart, and Heart of Darkness. What are some good suggestions?

Also, I forgot to mention but I would like to preemptively veto Slaughterhouse Five. I hated that book
