Preferably with a teenage protagonist because I find the idea of someone who grew up and was socialised in the modern world maturing in a traditional/older environment really fascinating
The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers is great, but it’s not going to be about maturing in an older time per se. It’s more like an action adventure that spans time and has a big Egyptian theme
Connie Willis’ Doomsday Book is amazing. Not teen but still really well done

The 1632 series by Eric Flint is about a small American town sent through time and space back to 17th century Germany. Some of the characters are teenagers.
