I’m not sure if I’m using the subreddit right but here goes nothing. I’d really like to read more, but most of the time I don’t have the attention span for books and will find the reading experience miserable, if I can force myself to read at all. However, there have been some books I absolutely love and can’t put down. I was wondering if someone who’s more well read can help me identify what is different about these books so I might be able to find more like them. Thanks!
The books in question are:
– The Giver by Lois Lowry (my favorite book, I’ve read it like five times)
– A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
– Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
– Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
– To The Last Man by Zane Grey
– The American Roommate Experiment by Elena Armas
– The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (I technically read this for school but loved it)
– Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
– The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
I also enjoy some short stories like:
– Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol
– The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry
– An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce
– Stone Baby by Terri Bruce
– The Tomb-Herd by Ramsey Campbell
– The Dead Valley by Ralph Adams Cram
Sorry to throw such a big list all at once, but to be fair I just listed every story I’ve finished in the last four years so… yikes.
