Hello, 26 female. Started a new job and need an outlet to get away.
Some past books I’ve enjoyed are…
-A Man Called Ove
-Secret Life of Bees
-Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
I don’t really enjoy books that are sarcastic/have very flowery language such as… (I know I know but I’m autistic and like direct language)
-This is How You Lose the Time War
-Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

It’s technically a children’s book, but one of the coziest books I can always recommend is Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild.
*A Gentleman in Moscow*, Amor Towles. I would describe this as a ‘quiet’ book. Not much happens, yet everything happens. And it is beautifully written – some of the passages are pure poetry.
There is a description of a waiter dropping an armful of oranges that will make you weep, it is so beautiful.
Anything by Melissa Nathan. Intelligent, so funny and soothing and sharp at the same time. Don’t be fooled by the ‘chick lit’ tags, this is great writing.
The Midnight library, Matt Haig. Quick read, yet engaging and thought provoking
The wishing game by Meg Schaffer. One of my favorites from last year.
Het majesty the Queen investigates series by S.J. Bennett
The House in the Cerulean Sea
