Every fiction book I read that I enjoy has been written 20 or 30 years ago. Are there any fiction books written in the past 10 years that are actually good writing and not cheap beach reads about love with fancy covers usually for a white female audience?

if you’re into fantasy, I have not read it but I keep hearing about A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR), there’s also Bridgerton which is more like pride and prejudice.
Edit: fixed poor phrasing
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
State of Wonder by Ann Patchett
A Brief History of Seven Killings
The Seven Lives of Malie Almeida
Demon Copperhead
So you’re looking for literature? This is like the 6th time I’ve mentioned this book in this subreddit but it’s for good reason…
*Demon Copperhead* by Barbara Kingsolver
It’s heartbreaking and hopeful and charming and tragic all at once. I couldn’t put it down. But don’t take my word for it:
