thriller/crime/suspense genre with female lead but without any crimes against women in the plot
i am so exhausted w violence against women being the plot twist/driving the plot :/ i love this genre i want to read it without feeling sad or scared for life
If you like noir-style mysteries, The Carlotta Carlyle series by Linda Barnes for an older series and the Roxane Weary series by Kristin Lepionka for a newer one, and also women private investigators generally – they are often not about mysteries or crimes that the police are investigating, so more missing persons, less violent stuff.
If you just want something cozy, A Murder Is Announced by Agatha Christie is one of her Miss Marple books.
