help me out here cuz i feel like I’m going crazy

So i recently got into the ‘dark romance’ genre with acotar.

I picked up king of courim, it was recommended, and i like it, but like, shit, it makes me really uncomfortable.
I fell weird saying that as a man and all, but it does, and i can’t put it down.

Am i crazy for this?

I can barely even explain what I’m asking, I’m only in the first couple of chapters but this really caught me by suprise, did not expect this

Edit: lol now that i read this again it’s really not clear what I’m asking.

Basically I’m saying that a book has never made me uncomfortable or something like that, and i still couldn’t put it down.
Just wanted to see if people had a similar experience
