as a kid, i really loved fantasy books. i read like 24/7, and in middle school i even had a yearbook feature talking about how much i liked to read 😭😭
i never read anymore, since a few years ago i wanted to focus more on writing. but, it takes a good reader to be a good writer and i miss the reverie of books.
i’m interested in ya, fantasy, and i’ll dip my toes into some sci fi. my fav book series of all time is miss peregrines peculiar children but i want to get into more mature topics (currently reading speak and girl in pieces) with a touch of humor similar to suicide notes by michael thomas ford.

“The Name of the Wind”, by Patrick Rothfuss. First of two, so far.
“The Martian”, by Andy Weir
“The Three Body Problem”, by Cixin Liu. A trilogy.
“The Rook: On Her Majesty’s Secret Supernatural Service”, by Daniel O’Malley is very well-written and cleverly hilarious, with an utterly ridiculous ‘Men In Black’ tone.
If you like stuff like lord of the rings, I’ve heard priory of the orange tree is good. I bought it for some friends. I wouldn’t call it a dip your toes in book though because it’s like 800 pages
