I would like to read a book with a straight man who does not abide by toxic masculinity. I am seeking that specifically as every book that has been suggested to me has been queer men, which is wonderful as I love seeing myself represented, but I would like to see a straight man be non-toxic in a book for once haha. Maybe one where he unapologetically dresses androgynously or feminine because that’s what he likes and he doesn’t care about anyone’s opinions? I am okay with contemporary, literary, graphic novels, short novels, novellas, vampire horror, short stories, anything but nonfiction, science fiction , or fantasy. Sex scenes are okay but no erotica please.

Piranesi by Susanna Clark maybe? It’s “fantasy” but not medieval fantasy with elves or anything. It’s about a man in a weird mansion that goes on forever and his life in it. He’s not very effeminate but he doesn’t resort to typical “macho” solutions. He’s not a fan of violence, or fighting, he just wants to understand and love the world he’s in.

I think you’d love my favorite male MC, Loran Cehack who crossdresses, dances with men, and seeks peace but is cis/hetero but it’s a sci-fi anime which isn’t up your alley. Still I’d be interested in any book with a character like him so I’ll watch the thread eagerly.
