I do navigate around books with that style of “slice of life” . Not a genre, i know,, but a category that fits what I like too read. I’ve read No Longer Human from Ozamu Dazai and many Russian ones, as a example.
Does anyone have a recommendation? Can be a modern/contemporary author tho . Thank you in advance.

“Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine” ticks the box I think! It’s also being made into a movie soon. Also a lovely gentle little book called “Leonard and hungry Paul” that may suit you.
