I’m have an itch to scratch around morally dubious protagonists doing things that might be for good, might not be. A good layer of grey area.
Think Matt (Josh Brolin) from Sicario (particularly Day of the Soldato).
Bonus points for something geopolitical/spec ops type thing. Not specifically assassin related, more doing something that is means to an end.
Doesn’t have to be Cartel related (and already read The Power of the Dog trilogy – always a big fan of all things Winslow).
