Hi there! Im a fantasy nerd that got into horror books about 6 months ago. I’ve mostly just been reading king and some random horror novels. So far im liking mr. King. Aside from him, I’m having trouble finding good horror books. I don’t want to call any specific book out but i find that most of the novels ive read aren’t hitting the spot. I would say most sit at a 2-3.5 star rating. So im turning to yall. Give me some good horror audiobooks! Preferably ones i can find in either libby or everand (aka scribd). Also if theres a book that a mix of horror and high fantasy id love to know! Thanks :3

i have a great idea for a new sound system for the internet, but i don ’ t think it ’ s working. i ’ ve heard that there ’ s a lot of people talking about wood hacks and violins in the same room, but none of them are really good.

You can try the Banned and the Banished series. It’s very dark fantasy, verging on horror fantasy, in my little opinion. James Clemens. I’m not sure if they’re available in audio though.

Go check out r/horrorlit if you’re just getting started on your horror journey. Welcome to the dark side! Here’s a few to get you started. I grabbed the first 3 in audiobook from my library.

My #1 would be The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Mostly just dark and apocalyptic but tells an awesome story. They couldn’t find a better voice actor if they searched the world over.

World War Z is really good as an audiobook. Surprisingly not like the movie at all and each chapter focuses on different people’s perspectives of the outbreak.

The Final Girl Support Group is a little more light hearted slasher but plays in a lot of classic horror films. The voice actor for this one did a great job as well.

Another that works well as audiobook is Fantasticland. It’s Lord of the Flies meets a theme park. It’s told through interviews as well with different voice actors.

Devolution by Max Brooks has excellent audio production! Not sure if it’s the type of horror you like, but it is for sure audio done right!
