I need recommendations on books about a fictional female lead who seeks male validation/attention and her struggles with it. About her struggles of with the male gaze and being “not like other girls”/ cool girl. Prehaps somebody who looks down on other women or feels as if though she is in competition with them. any suggesstions would be helpful thank you.

Alone with You in the Ether by Olivie Blake for male validation + confusing lust with love. not so much ‘not like most girls’ but i love this book very much and there’s a part where the main female lead is getting called out and it really hit home for me. i think about it all the time.
