Wow this was my first time experiencing this story but my god was this Audiobook incredible! I absolutely loved the ride, the character study, the mystery, the villian(s), and overall just the whole story.
But special shout-out to the acting!
My only gripe is (as much as I loved the story) I do wish the ending were just a bit more climactic. I truly would’ve loved a final-showdown between you-know-who resulting in a death (or two). Overall just missed out on that sense of JUSTICE that so moves a certain character.
And in the ending, I felt Justice was never truly served.
It was a tragedy through and through, dark. I loved it! But I really could’ve used a WIN for a certain main character in the ending and a real final stand off between someone so evil and vile and cunning.
Anyway, this was an awesome book BUT especially audiobook!

To me the ending was pretty silly and ruined the whole book. The whole thing hung on the villain wearing mens shoes?
I listened to it and also really enjoyed it, I went on to read her other books (also as audio)… I enjoyed them all. When I read Gone Girl it was new out and so very different to all the other books around at the time, I was pretty happy with the ending after I though about it a bit, I liked that it was different.
I think there are a lot of copy cat books since.
