Long post but I am looking for books from the perspectives of people who committed crimes. I am an ethnic Rwandan born after the horrific genocide and can’t wrap my mind around the motivation of normally ordinary people to snap and commit such evil. I remember reading through an archive of my mom’s unpublished and sadly incomplete thesis where she interviewed both the victims and perpetrators of the Rwandan genocide but I could sense that most of the interviewees where holding back.
Any books from the POV or pysche of the perpetrators of some of these crimes. Think similar to the Act of killing documentary (utterly brilliant) but maybe a personal account?
