I’m shocked because of how sad the story is.
I like the characters (except for Curly’s wife and Curly) and I appreciate how the author is able to show the friendship between Lennie and George in such a heartwarming way.
I definitely didn’t like how Curly’s wife treated the black man and she was so annoying throughout the book although it was sad how she died.
Lennie was such a great character I almost got emotional when the ending came. I do like the ending but wish it would have been worded differently with better resolution.
It definitely is a bit of work to read for me to read because of the old American slang ,although not as much as other classics as the pacing is a lot faster (perhaps because it’s a 1930s book while many classics I read were from the 1800s).
I like this book, not one of my faves but it’s a good read.
