I’m try to find a fantasy book that takes the idea of someone from earth being put into a fantasy world. Growing up one the tv shows that stuck with me in memory was “Mär awakens romance” which held that theme and later on anime, manga, and light novels took a great interest in this idea but it was all OP characters with no struggle or personality all in cookie cutter situations. I’m not really looking for anime, manga , or LN suggestions but more western style literature of epic fantasy that start with the “somehow ended up in a fantasy world” beginning but don’t just go on to be the same mass produced trash
TLDR: want a story that takes a normal dude from earth and forces him to adapt to life in a fantasy world and take the hero’s journey that isn’t anime trash
