For context Stephen pressfield is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read the vast majority of his works and I wanted to share that with my high school students

For context I do tend to “sanatize* works to a certain degree skipping over harsh language or anything more r rated. With that being said I wanted to teach a unit on gates of fire and then add a different one of his books to it

I was debating on virutes of war or last of the amazons. With the former I like the compare and contrast between a man on the ground and a commander and the way each book approaches war. There’s also a lot to talk about with pressfields Alexander potentially being an unreliable narrator and how the book approaches leadership. But I’m worried about losing their interest with how technical the book is

With last of the amazons there’s a more interesting compare and contrast between a masculine novel and a novel that I remember being more feminine. Also LOTA is more fantasy then historical and there’s another compare and contrast to be discussed. But I don’t remember that book as well nor do I remember if I can water down the violence level
