Hiya,
I would love to read a book with an interesting love story in it, but a mature romance (not in age, but in behaviour, actions), actual dilemmas, not the type of a book where one childish misunderstanding led to years of yearning for somebody and all one has to do is TALK TO THEM. I struggle with reading easy romance novels the way I struggle with boring un-complicated TV or reality tv. Easy, simple, pre-chewed content is not for me. I LIKE TO THINK.
When I read ‘You Made a Food of Death with Your Beauty” by Akwaeke Emezi and “Swimming in the Dark” by Tomasz Jedrowski, I found what I was looking for, but I can’t seem to find more of those.
Now: the only two other criteria: it must come in an audiobook format and must not be over 350 pages (pref. 250 ish), because big book fear is real and I have ADHD and get bored very easily.
Another example of great romance I’m thinking about are: The main character’s journey in Ashling Bea’s TV show “This Way Up”, some of the character arches in The Good Wife, most of the stories covered in the NYT Modern Love section. You get the gist…
If you can help, I will be very grateful <3 (My reading list is in my goodreads if anybody wants some context)
Thanks <3

You might like A Shot in the Dark by Victoria Lee. No idea whether it exists as an audiobook though.
