I’m looking for a more uplifting book that does not include any sex or any mentions of misogyny. Nothing fantasy/scifi and nothing for kids please. I just want something that is pure escapism 🙂
I recently read remarkably bright creatures and loved it!! It’s about an unlikely friendship between an older woman and an octopus at the aquarium that she cleans and the octopus helps the woman solve a decades old mystery. Sounds a little strange but it was a really sweet story! (And it’s not a kids book even though my description kinda sounds like it lol)

The Emerald Mile by Kevin Fedarko (The true story of fastest trip ever down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.)

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, or if you’re into outlandish, but set in the real world, adventure, Anything Considered by Peter Mayle. Although I think there’s like, half a sex scene in that one.
