The equivalent of a Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams, like immortally great funny. My daughter is 13 and I want to saturate her in the best sarcasm and creative humor I can find before pop music rots her brain. I loved Pratchett, but i’m not sure she’ll stick with it because she’s said she’s sorta outgrown fantasy and there’s not many main female characters. Who are the funniest – but also great story tellers – writers for female teens??? Thanks!!

    1. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, Jennifer Lawson. Haven’t read it in a while but I remember it being hilarious.

    2. The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C Wrede are delightful and extremely funny, and two of the four have excellent female protagonists. They’re definitely fantasy but might work for her if she’s growing away from it because a lot of the humour kind of interrogates fantasy conventions while also just being really fun stories. First book main character is a princess deeply bored with princessing who runs away to work for a dragon.
