My attention span doesn’t seem to be up for much, but I picked up The Color Purple after watching the movie, and I’m already halfway through/it’ll be my first finished novel is a while. .5-2 page chapters are really working for me. It doesn’t have to be epistolary, but that’s mostly where I’ve seen this style. I also loved How to End the Time War when I read that.
The ultra-short format also feels a bit like poetry, both because there inst any space for wasted words, and because Celia’s voice is so strong, and it’s beautiful.
Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is Faulkner, and I might try that, but alternatives would be nice.
