The Last One by Will Dean is probably one of the best novels I have read in recent years. It takes a lot for a book to shock me, and I usually see the pattern early on. But this book kept me guessing till the last sentence.
Seriously, they do it to her all over again at the end?!
Half of them were actors?!
Was the whole point of the dogs to release the Malinois at the end?
Did their family sign them up all along?
There’s no way the “contract” they signed was legal consent.
Why didn’t they realize that people were on the ship setting up the events? Especially after they met Lips.
