A lot of people touting the power of stories talk as if it’s some magical thing. But to me, it doesn’t seem like something becomes interesting just because it’s in a story structure. There are interesting stories and bad stories, just like how non-story forms can be interesting. When I’m reading non-fiction books or articles to get information, there are so many cases where they babble on about the people involved, what their personalities are like, what problems they have, etc. I have to wade through the fluff to get to the point, and it’s very annoying.
