It was actually recommended as another book like ‘Flowers for Algernon’ and they were absolutely correct.

I am devastated. But in a positive way?

I cannot even explain how much I grew to love this non-bitter bitter old man, he shows that he loves and cares unconventionally. Actually, I was a little deterred from the MINUSCULE mistreatment of the cat when they were somewhat goofily fighting in the car but was quickly able to change my mind about that as the cat seems to understand that Ove is just being Ove. That didn’t mean the cat was loved any less.

God, he was a remarkable man >!and he deserved a peaceful slumber as he makes his way to Sonja!<.

SONJA!! Even the way he loved her was endearing, everything about him revolved around morals and principles, but even he cannot get in the way of the power of loving someone else.

All in all, it is such a brilliant book about found family that it will remain a book that I will frequently ponder about as I live the rest of my life.

    Time to watch the film.

What was the main highlight of the book for any of you that have read it?

And also, if you were a neighbour of Ove, would you realistically think about introducing yourself to him and try to make a friend of him?

For me I think I’d be too scared. But if I was, let’s say friends with Parvaneh, I’d be able to slither my way to a friendship!
