It’s my first time on reddit here so idk if this post on the right place or why iam writing it, I’m just happy that I’m over my reading slump that took too long
Anyway I had crying in h mart on my read list for long due the hype and also fan of the writer band and I finally finished it but I don’t have same hype as reviews, I found it very boring (I feel bad saying this since it’s memoire), of course I felt sympathy toward our writer but I also found her sometimes whiney, the book also had long food receipts that I found myself skimming through, I didn’t feel the big connection between mother and daughter, but more daughter reconnecting with her Korean roots, their relationship was complicated and reading this book I felt reading a diary that have messy parts.
I still dont have my full review but I just didn’t feel the hype, I wanted to love it but I couldn’t. Wrote this post bcz it’s a critical acclaimed book

It was just ok for me. I was confided by how loved it seems to be.
I dnf this book. I found it too boring to go on.
