When I say “first thing in the morning,” I mean “still in bed because I literally woke up 30 seconds ago.”
There’s a 10 minute period between when I achieve consciousness and when I actually get out of bed. I’ve gotten in the bad habit of hopping on my phone to check internet stuff during that time.
It would be a lot nicer to read a book instead. I’m looking for something that’s easy even for a groggy person to understand, cheerful and/or interesting, and virtually guaranteed not to make me sad, scared, or angry.
I’m not sure how exactly to define it, but it would also be nice if the book feels “energetic” in some way rather than cozy. Cozy books are great, but I’ll probably fall right back asleep if I’m reading about cats purring in front of fireplaces or something.
Both fiction and non-fiction are fine. Thank you!
