I’m several chapters deep into it because of all the high recommendations. Did anyone find it hard to follow due to the language style?
Should I put a pause on it or keep trying to trudge through it even though I’m confused every few pages as to what the author is trying to say?

I did not find it difficult but, if you are young, sure, the writing style may not be what you are used to. I suggest giving it a few more chapters to allow yourself to become accustomed to the rhythm. If it still doesn’t catch, move on to another book.
r/classicbookclub is reading it. Check out their discussion
You don’t have to read a book just because other people liked it. Reading is personal. If you’re not enjoying yourself for any reason, you can put it down, if that’s what you want to do.
Similar problem! I tried reading it, but couldn’t get into it. I switched to an audiobook, and it’s a little more approachable. Now I’m a quarter of the way through and enjoying it
