Recommendations for fiction books that deal with suicidal ideation, depression\self harm\mental illness etc.

Not YA please if possible, I am not a fan. I’m looking for something more akin to Infinite Jest, A Little Life, Kneller’s Happy Campers, A Man Called Ove…

Ones that would fit the bill but I didn’t enjoy much would be The Midnight Library, Norwegian Wood, The Bell Jar.

Some films I liked and would be happy to find books that would be similar would be, for example, the short movie Curfew, The Fall, The Royal Tenenbaums.

Basically, some dwelling on depression\\addiction\\the human condition, be it in a dramatic OR a comedic way- I like both.

(If anyone asks I’m doing fine! I’m just a mentally ill man who likes to read about mentally ill men because it makes me feel happy and understood, for some reason, no matter how bleak it is)
