I feel like all the “found family” book recs I see are just YA novels about a group of friends who are all kinda sad. I’m looking for something like The Tarot Sequence by KD Edwards where the found family actually feels like a family and not just a group of friends who does stuff together and likes each other. (I would prefer adult over YA, but if you have something that stands out in YA I could be persuaded) (also I prefer diverse recs!!)

Takes a bit, but {{Daughter of the Blood, by Bishop}} gets there properly in book 2. *All* the trigger warnings, though.
