Stop me if you’ve come across this thriller plotline lately:
A group of friends head to a luxurious location on the anniversary of a significant event, or are bound by something in their past, they get stuck there, and then one or more of them start dying.
I had been looking forward to The Fury by Alex Michaelides, until I saw that its synopsis generally matched that above. There are sooo many books out there just like it. It feels like the same book is getting published over and over again!
Anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?
What overdone thriller plot device is grinding your gears right now?
(I hate open endings. I don’t get ARCs. I spend up to $30 on a new book. If I’m going to spend my day with YOUR characters in YOUR world, wrap it up for me properly. It’s not my job. A lot of Aussie books seems to do this – Riptide, The Bass Rock, Wake, 55….)
