What a fantastic audiobook!
I saw many recommendations for this book on this subreddit and some posts against it but I’m totally with those how’d recommend it.
The book itself is great. I loved the idea of the sun getting infected (after all, most SciFi stories have big mean aliens threatening earth) and how Project Hail Mary came to be. I also loved the relationship between Grace and Rocky.
It really made me think of how the world today would respond to such a crisis and if we’d be able to respond the same way Stratt made “that” world respond.
The one thing I didn’t like was the “sex talk” with Dubois. Sure, it was a bit of a comedic scene but it was totally pointless. If we were to learn that the explosion that killed Dubois and Shapiro happened becasue they had sex in the lab that would at least made some sense but that wasn’t the case…
Ray Porter does a fantastic work narrating the book! (and for those of you who listen to Hello From The Magic Tavern, doesn’t he sound a lot like Arnie?)
