I’m in search of a book that is historical in nature, but with prose that is engaging and enjoyable to read.
Books I love:
– Erik Larson books in general
– Unbroken
– Boys in the Boat
– Caste
– The Warmth of Other Suns
– Sam Kean books in general
What else am I missing out on?
Thanks in advance.

* Daniel James Brown – The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of the Donner Party.
This was recommended to me by multiple redditors and it is a compelling read. Very harrowing.
* Adam Higginbotham – Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World’s Greatest Nuclear Disaster
Just a very gripping read from start to finish.
* Kelly Cordes – The Tower: A Chronicle of Climbing and Controversy on Cerro Torre
A historical mystery and general history of climbing on one of the most daunting mountains in the world.
