My goal is to mainly read book series this year, but I’m having trouble finding series that ARE NOT fantasy/magic or mysteries/thrillers. I’m currently reading Beartown and it’s pretty much what I’m looking for. I like books like Demon Copperhead, the Extraordinary life of Sam Hell, The Dutch House-ish where it’s just people living their regular life.
I enjoy the Stephanie Plum books, but in moderation since they are the same thing over and over. I recently read the Reign series which I enjoyed, and I will probably finish the Crazy Rich Asians too. Thank you!

I’d recommend Ali Smith’s seasonal quartet. It’s exactly what it sounds like and you’d start with Autumn. Each book can be read as a standalone but reading them together, in order, adds a ton to the work.
Rachel Cusk’s Outline series. I suppose it’s described as auto-fiction. The author takes us through her days as an author. On a plane, at a conference. Etc. Her physical descriptions of people get me every time. Pure gold.
Louise Erdrich’s Love Medicine series. And Elizabeth Strout’s Lucy Barton or Olive Kitteredge books.
The Tillerman Cycle books by Cynthia Voigt. The first one is *Homecoming*.
Marilynne Robinson’s Gilead quartet. Each book sort of tells the same story from the perspective of a different character. Very cool, very beautiful.
Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan novels — following a friendship between two women over the course of their lives, starting from childhood.
