I am at book 3 and they feel really like a teenager romcom and cringe. It seems, the protagonists like Alec, Isabella etc. get a thick plot armor and nobody dies or will be saved in the end.
Will they get better or do they stay like that? Valentin is actually the only character I like so far.
Are infernal devices better?

I read them when I was young, and they were cringe, especially Clarissa.
They’re YA for a reason.
I stopped after book 3. Book 4 wasn’t out that time. And when book 4 was released, I read that the focus changed to the best friend and I didn’t like his character so I didn’t bother anymore.
I still watched the movie and the TV show though.
