For me this book delivers the thought that people must go through the sufferings of the human world before getting enlightenment. He cannot be enlightened by studying the teachings. He must experience the joys and sorrows of ordinary people. So Siddhartha left Brahmin, he learned do business from merchant and sex from prostitutes, gained then lost.
**But I dont understand why he got enlightened by looking at the flowing river?**
