The final book in the trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett is… So much work.
The dialogue is over wrought, throughout the entire thing there is endless exposition about the magic system, and I understand it! I don’t need a literal 100 pages explaining twinning over and over.
The antagonist is just so incredibly dull.
Clef lost all his personality somehow, same with San.
I was so excited for this book. I’ve read maybe 300 books in the last decade and this one really stands out as one I just am not able to find anything compelling.
Can anyone else offer a counter view point to show me a way to appreciate it?
