Any good books that take place in middle school or high school that deal with mental illness (primarily depression, anxiety, or OCD) and feature themes about loneliness, difficulty understanding peers, not fitting in, and/or self-isolation?
It can also deal with bullying, suicide, and other heavy topics, but doesn’t have to.
The final criteria is that it needs to have been published more or less within the past 5 years (2019 or later) and not be a completely unknown or self-published book (hopefully above 20K ratings on GoodReads, for example).
