Blechhh it was a good book but it is also about some truly awful things. Like kids getting just, so, so abandoned by the grownups and the effects of that and drug addition and poverty and oxy and.. damn. I just finished it and I’m frankly a bit cranky at it for some reason. Like Jesus why was this book such a soul sucker?? I need something light and wholesome to read now, wow. It was so hard to get through because each chapter was sad and I would get worried about what would happen next that I could only read about a chapter at a time. Arghhhh

I don’t think Demon Copperhead was a good book. I think it was opioid crisis pandering fanfic with a conservative twist. I also found the ending rushed, cliche, and a little too Alabama for my liking. I did learn some interesting history from the book.
