Today I finished The Sirens of Titan, the 3rd book I’ve read by Vonnegut (SH5 & Cat’s Cradle). Sirens started off absolutely hilarious. Honestly the first 100 pages I was thinking this may be his funniest book I’ve had the pleasure of reading thus far. Through the mid section of the book it took a great turn and I was so ready for this spectacular ending. Through the last 50 or so pages my heart just sank. I’m not sure what it was but my goodness it was awful, beautiful, sad, and I found myself in just this state of sorrow. I usually don’t get this way with books and I cannot find the words to decribe just how beautiful this ending was. It wasn’t the ending I was hoping for nor expecting and I still love it. Idk, it hit me in just this completely different way than both Cat’s Cradle and Slaughterhouse-Five. Anyway, Jailbird is next on the shelf… let me know some of your favorite Vonnegut books and hopefully I can add them to the collection here soon!

You will find soon enough that they all have the same feel about them. And how you read them. Especially jailbird. It’s disjointed paragraph style of writing. But I love him so.
