Has anyone else read Marie Benedict’s books and just been like meh?
I’ve read 2, The Mitford Affair and The First Ladies, and both should have 100% been up my alley. I’ve been fascinated by the Mitfords for years, Eleanor Roosevelt since 3rd grade. The stories are fascinating, and yet the books just fall flat. I think it’s something about her writing style, it feels like too much exposition, maybe? Too much tell and not enough show? I’m not sure, but curious if anyone else has felt that way too.
