I finished reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman in late December, and safe to say, it was the best book I’ve ever read in my whole life. After that, I’ve been in a slump. I’ve tried reading all sorts of books, Interview with the vampire, 1984, Game of thrones, etc, but I’m yet to get engrossed in one. Maybe I’m having a hard time finding the genre I like best or it’s a disconnect of writing style. I’m open to any genre except historical or non fiction (example: Pride and Prejudice) any book recommendations similar?

    1. Try Good Omens – cowritten by Gaiman. Or try Going Postal by Terry Pratchett – the other half of the Good Omens team.

    2. Usually if I’m in a slump I choose a shorter book to break the slump all the books you said you tried are pretty long. Have you read anything else by Gaiman? I love Ocean at the End of the Lane, Graveyard Book, and Coraline. All are pretty short finished in a sitting or two for me and have the creative fantasy/magical realism that I love.
