I’m more into reincarnation themed works these days. In the work that sparked this post, the FL’s husband in her past life ‘fell in love’ with a woman below his station (they were nobles), slept with her, patted his ass and then went home to obey mother’s wish to marry FL. He continued to ignore FL, watched her get abused by his sister and mother; ignored his daughter. In the FL’s current life, the author wrote it such as he still left the girl but FL apparently was a saint and comforted him, telling him to stand up to his mother and get the girl back.
I’ve said I don’t need realism in novels; I lied to myself. I absolutely need some degree of realism.
A relationship based off such weak will may not necessarily last especially since the guy was such a momma’s boy.
