History books on post-WWII geopolitics.

I’ve been going through a phase of relearning history that wasn’t necessarily taught in high school and college.

I read The Afghanistan Papers by Craig Whitlock and found it to be eye-opening. I had lived through that time, but was too young to understand any of it. The thing I enjoyed most about the book was that it seemed relatively unbiased for being tied to a news conglomerate (or at least I walked away from it thinking every administration had handled the situation terribly, which feels less biased to me).

With that being said, could I get some recommendations for books that are as unbiased as possible to help fill in my understanding of why modern geopolitics are the way they are? Especially interested in the Cold War at the moment but I don’t know where to start. Thank you!
