I’m looking for something kind of literary/sci fi- ish and specifically I’d like something a bit sad. Really liked “never let me go” and “the road”. Something along those lines.
Thank you in advance
Check out Ted Chiang’s collections of short stories – *Stories Of Your Life and Others* and *Exhalation*, there are a great mix of ideas and moods there, but many are very contemplative and introspective and rife with melancholy.
*The Ocean At The End of The Lane* by Neil Gaiman. The title alone alludes to the mood of this book. Gaiman is a master of conjuring feelings.
*The Time Traveller’s Wife* by Audrey Niffeneggar. A bit deceptive, it’s a bittersweet story disguised as a romance. A bit polarizing though, depending on the reader’s personal perspective.
