Essentially just the title. I’ve read authors like Northrop Frye and I feel like they don’t quote enough or cite enough specific examples from the texts they reference, specifically in his books on the Bible he does that thing where he asks the reader to compare certain verses without actually giving the verses which the reader is supposed to be comparing. Harold Bloom (I’m only vaguely familiar with his work) does quote pretty frequently in his works of literary criticism, so perhaps someone like him.
