So I’ve challenged myself to read as many books from the “disturbing books iceberg” as possible. Why? Because why not.

Sit down, droogies, and close your rots! It’s time to review this classic.

First of all, thank God for the fact that my copy of this book came with a glossary for the slang. Oh my word. I was so confused for the first few pages!

I liked the philosophical challenges that the book presented. Is someone truly good if they’ve been forced to be good? Probably not.

Did I like Alex as a character? Eh. Do I think he deserved his suffering? Yep. He definitely deserved punishment after destroying so many lives. Those two preteen girls? They’re gonna be messed up for life.

I think my favourite character was Pete. I loved his character’s ending.

Can you imagine having a child as sociopathic as Alex? Gosh, what could you even do? His psyche is fascinating, because he has two loving (pushover) parents. Why does he do evil things? For the hell of it. No other reason.

Did you first this book disturbing? Why or why not?

    1. Loved the book and was surprised how much of the book was a close script for the movie.

Burgess and his language development is so unique.

I didn’t find it disturbing, but enjoy the darker genres, whether books or movies.
