I’m starting a book club with some friends focusing on science fiction and fantasy. We will have monthly themes.
I could use some SFF book suggestions where the theme is on “liberating love.”
I guess I’d be looking for books which discuss concepts of love rather than just having a strong romantic plot.
If you’d be kind enough to offer some additional suggestions I will add them to a ranked choice poll my group. I have the next several months worth of themes but I will probably make discrete posts for each one.

Time enough for love – Robert Heinlein
The long way to a small angry planet by Becky Chambers. It’s fantastic.
Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin
The two that I had thought of were, “Klara and the Sun” by Kazuo Ishiguro and I was also thinking “Light from Uncommon Stars” by Ryka Aoki.
I had a thread posted yesterday on a couple of book subreddits but I think I added too much extraneous information and the got post canceled. A couple people added “Left hand of Darkness” and “The Sol Majestic.”
This is for a Unitarian church so heady and offbeat suggestions will be welcomed. I will take the suggestions from all 2,3 places I’ve posted and collect into a Goodreads/Listopia list and add as an update to the original post once traffic dies down.
